In the field of electronics, ESD (Electro-Static discharge) means "electrostatic discharge". ESD is a discipline that has been formed since the mid-20th century to study the generation, harm and protection of static electricity. As an important link involving electronic products, anti-static measures are indispensable in the electronic product testing area.
Anti-static measures in the electronic product testing area include but are not limited to the following points:
1. Use an anti-static workbench: The workbench should be equipped with an anti-static table mat, a wrist strap connector and a ground wire, and ensure that there are at least two wrist strap connectors on the anti-static table mat, one for the operator and the other for technicians, inspectors or other personnel.
2. Wear an anti-static wrist strap: Personnel who directly contact electrostatic sensitive devices should wear an anti-static wrist strap, which should have good contact with human skin and have no irritation or allergic effects on the human body.
3. Use anti-static containers: In the development and production of electronic equipment, all storage and turnover containers (such as component bags, transfer boxes, printed circuit board racks, component storage boxes, etc.) should have electrostatic protection performance. Metal and ordinary plastic containers are not allowed.
4. Use ion wind static eliminator: Ion wind static eliminator should be used to eliminate static charge on the surface of insulating materials.
5. Wear anti-static work clothes: People who enter the anti-static work area or touch electrostatic sensitive devices should wear anti-static work clothes, and the fabric of the work clothes should meet relevant standards.
In addition, the anti-static working environment in the electronic product testing area also has certain requirements, such as keeping clean, controlling temperature and humidity, using anti-static floors or mats, and clearly marking area boundaries and warning signs.
