How to correctly test the static value of anti-static shoes?

Article source: KYD Electronic CO., Ltd / Author: KYD Electronic CO., Ltd / Publication time: 2022-07-18

When using anti-static, we often encounter how to detect the static value of static electricity, so that it will not affect the normal use of electrostatic shoes, so what are the steps to test the static value?

1. Instruments

A. The power supply of the test instrument can output a DC voltage of 100V±2V. The measurement results can be accurate to within 5%, and the energy consumed on the test sample can be guaranteed not to exceed 3W. The accuracy of the voltmeter and ammeter of the instrument is 2.5, and the range can meet the measurement requirements.

B. The inner electrode is composed of steel balls with a total weight of 4KG and a diameter of 5MM. And anti-oxidation treatment must be carried out before use.

C. The outer electrode is copper plate. Antioxidant treatment must be carried out before use, and cleaned with ethanol.

2. Preparation of test samples

A. Sample preparation

Clean the surface of the tested shoe sole with ethanol. Wash the soles with distilled water and allow to dry according to the specified conditions. It is forbidden to use organic substances that will corrode the soles and swell and deform. The surface of the sole should not be worn, and a conductive layer with an area of 180*40MM should be placed on the cleaned sole and dried under the specified environmental conditions.

Measurement of the resistance value of conductive coatings.

The device for measuring the resistance value of the conductive coating consists of three conductive metal pillars, and the radius of the top of the metal pillars is 3MM±2MM. Among them, the distance between two sides and three columns is 35MM±0.2MM. and connected with metal wires. The third column is 160MM±5MM away from the midpoint of the connection between the other two columns, and is insulated from the other two columns.

Place the shoes coated with the conductive layer on the specified metal posts. The forefoot part of the shoe is placed on two pillars with a distance of 35MM, the heel part is placed on the third pillar, and all three pillars must be in contact with the conductive coating. Then use the specified test instrument to measure the resistance between the front two-sided three-pole column and the third column, and measure the circuit principle measurement result, and the resistance value must be less than 1KΩ.

3. Test conditions for anti-static shoes

Environmental requirements: temperature 20 ℃ ± 2 ℃; relative humidity: 30% ± 3%.

A. Place the test sample under the specified environmental conditions for more than 24 hours.

B. If the test cannot be carried out in the specified environment, the test must be completed within 5 minutes after the test sample is removed from the environment.

4. Anti-static shoes test steps

Fill the test shoes with steel balls according to the regulations (if the height of the upper is not enough to fit all the conductive steel balls, the height of the upper can be increased with insulating materials). Put the test sample of the loaded steel ball on the specified outer electrode, and connect the specified DC power supply between the inner and outer electrodes for 1min. Measuring circuit principle. Record or calculate the voltage value and current value after reaching the specified time.
